Product Up-date - SmartCAM
Lab Impex Systems launch an updated and enhanced SmartCAM alpha-beta continuous air monitor.
The SmartCAM is a next generation Continuous Air Monitor (CAM) that offers the user unparalleled performance in terms of detectable limit, sensitivity and speed to alarm.
In recent months, LIS have consolidated the products’ position as a market leader by introducing two innovative enhancements.
Firstly, LIS are pleased to announce the release of the SmartCAM moving filter monitor (MFM). The MFM retains all the exsiting features of the fixed filter SmartCAM, but now allows autonomous operation for over one year. In addition, the SmartCAM is the first commercially available system that utilizes the Speclon filter type for moving filter alpha-beta particulate measurement.
Lab Impex Systems launch an updated and enhanced SmartCAM alpha-beta continuous air monitor.
Speclon filter is PTFE-membrane media that is recognized for its superior surface deposition characteristics, which result in sharper energy resolution for alpha spectroscopy applications. For CAMs, improved energy resolution means reduced background from interfering radon decay peaks, and therefore a more stable accurate measurement and a lower probability of false alarm.
LIS are also pleased to announce the release of the SmartCAM–Total Alpha. Up to this point, the SmartCAM has been supplied in a configuration that is restricted to isotope specific result reporting. Although this provides real advantages for facilities where the radiological hazard is known, for certain applications it more desireable to implement a CAM that reports total gross alpha, with no discrimination of isotopes.
